Paul has over 30 years’ experience in U.S. health insurance and reinsurance. He began his career on the underwriting side of the business where from 1990 to 1998, Paul was an account manager with Allianz Life where he was responsible for HMO and Provider Excess reinsurance clients, as well as studying and developing his actuarial skills.
In 1998, Paul joined John B. Collins Associates as Vice President where he was responsible for a significant block of Life/Accident & Health (A&H) reinsurance across multiple clients. After six years at Collins Paul joined Tony Plampton at Re-Solutions Intermediaries in 2004. Re-Solutions Intermediaries was a life, accident and health focused reinsurance intermediary that over the next ten years became the largest independent intermediary operating in the A&H reinsurance space. Paul was a significant contributor to the success of Re-Solutions, developing business, mentoring colleagues, and always putting his clients first.
In November 2015, when Re-Solutions was acquired by Risk Strategies Company (RSC), Paul became a Senior Vice President in RSC’s National Health Care Practice.
Over his career, Paul has developed expertise in HMO Reinsurance, Provider Excess, Medical Excess, Medical Quota Share, Professional Liability and Employer Stop Loss business, and he has excelled in the program area working with multiple MGU clients.
Paul joined Tatum RE in July 2023 as Senior Vice President.
Outside of work, Paul’s focus is on his family, he enjoys a round of golf with friends and is passionate about all sports. Within the A&H reinsurance industry Paul is also a well-known cook – with his Italian heritage and family-owned restaurant experience, Italian cooking skills run in his veins!
